Cannot install GSX Gizmo - Halting at PostgreSQL Steps

When attempting to install GSX Gizmo, the installation halts at "Extracting PostgreSQL" or "Initializing PostgreSQL" with error messages. This is usually caused by a missing GSX Gizmo prerequisite of PowerShell version 4.

Symptoms

  • Folder Access Denied. Folder_Access_Denied.png
  • You'll need to provide administrator permission to copy this folder. Folder_Access_Denied.png
  • error pgsql.  Folder_Access_Denied.png
  • There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  There_is_a_problem_with_this_Windows_Installer_package.png
  • Contact your support personnel or package vendor. There_is_a_problem_with_this_Windows_Installer_package.png

How to Solve the Issue

  1. Download and install the Windows Management Framework 4.0 or later that includes PowerShell version 4.0:
  2. Check for any other missing prerequisites:  
  3. Once the prerequisites are installed, restart the GSX Gizmo station.
  4. Retry the Gizmo installation.
