IBM Notes Traveler Task not Available

After upgrading a Traveler server to version 9.1.0.3 or above, GSX Monitor reports it as down. As of IBM Traveler version 9.0.1.3, IBM has modified the name of the Traveler Task. This name change causes the Traveler Task to report as not found by GSX Monitor.

This article explains how to update GSX Monitor to identify the new Traveler Task.

IBM Traveler 9.0.1.3+ | GSX Monitor prior to 10.12

Symptoms

  • Notes Traveler task not available.
  • Test connection succeeds.

How to Solve the Issue

Your version of GSX Monitor must be at least 10.12.0. It has been updated to reflect the Traveler Task name change.

You can change the Traveler version number at the server level or at the pool level.

Changing the Traveler version number in GSX Monitor at the server level:

  1. Open GSX Monitor.
  2. Right-click an affected Traveler 9.0.1.3+ server and and select Edit Server Configuration:
  3. Change the Traveler Version to Notes Traveler 9.0.1.3.

Changing the Traveler version number in GSX Monitor at the pool level:

  1. Open GSX Monitor.
  2. Right-click an affected Traveler 9.0.1.3+ pool and select Edit Traveler pool Configuration.
  3. Change the Traveler Version to Notes Traveler 9.0.1.3.

Traveler server and pool scans are now reporting the status of the Traveler task correctly.
