GSX Remote Client Interface loads with the Server Configuration screen

When launching the GSX Remote Client Interface (CI), you successfully connect to GSX Monitor but the Server Configuration screen loads and no monitored servers are listed.

Follow this article to correct the display issue.

GSX Monitor Remote Client Interface 10.x.x+

  • New Server Configuration wizard loads.
  • Empty GSX Monitor Remote Client configuration.

 How to Solve the Issue

The common cause to this error is a missing or outdated version of .NET Framework installed on the GSX Remote CI station. This error may appear after upgrading to GSX Monitor version 11 and the .NET Framework version was updated on the monitoring station. Download and install at minimum, the same .NET Framework version that is installed on your GSX Monitor station.

Verifying the .NET Framework version installed on the monitoring station via Windows Registry:

  1. From the GSX Monitor station, click the Start menu > Run.
  2. Type the following and hit enter:
    • regedit
  3. In the Registry Editor, navigate and expand the following path:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP
  4. A listing of the installed .NET Framework versions will appear:
  5. You can expand and navigate the latest entries corresponding to v3.5 or v4+ to view the specific version information:
  6. Take note of the .NET Framework version information listed.
  7. With the version information, either install the same version or download the latest redistributable installation of .NET Framework on the GSX Monitor Remote CI station.

The GSX Monitor Remote Client Interface now loads correctly.
